1986 Central Park Jazz Festival Poster

Where the 1982 bill is sparse, this 1986 edition is dense: two drummers buried in frantic black hatching, with flat green shadow pooling behind them like trees in Rumsey Playfield. The lettering — July 30 to August 6 — sits in that same green, half-swallowed by the drawing's energy. It reads less like an advertisement than a page torn from a sketchbook mid-solo. Choose the white frame to give the hatching room to breathe against the wall; the cream paper already supplies the warmth. At 12×18 in it works above a desk or bar cart, and it pairs naturally with its 1982 sibling — hang the calmer red-accented print first and let this one close the set.
